The Deputy Manager - Clinical Lead will oversee clinical operations, support staff development.
Role Overview:
Langtree Care Home is hiring for a Clinical Lead – Deputy Manager. We are a new 52-bedded home built with the household model of care at the heart, offering each resident an elegant and spacious bedroom, large open spaced communal areas, inviting outdoor space built in the beautiful surroundings of Worthington Lakes.
As the Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in leading and managing the service to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. This includes overseeing clinical operations, staff development, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Role Expectations:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership and support to all staff, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulations.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of service.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of care, including administration, staffing, housekeeping, catering, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with care standards.
- Conduct regular staff supervision, appraisals, and team meetings.
- Coordinate duty rotas, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
Clinical Duties:
- Lead, support, and facilitate the nursing and medical needs of service users.
- Provide clinical guidance to staff, ensuring best practices in care delivery.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare professionals.
- Monitor clinical governance, participate in quality assurance, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Conduct root cause analyses and develop action plans following incidents.
Working with Others:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, service users, families, and external agencies.
- Promote a person-centred approach, ensuring service users’ wishes and preferences are at the heart of care delivery.
- Facilitate team meetings and contribute to staff training and development.
- Advocate for service users, ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
- Conduct internal audits to identify improvement areas.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RMN preferred) with an active NMC PIN.
- Supervisory or management qualification is desirable.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience in a care home or similar setting.
- Proven leadership and staff management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance.
- Experience with electronic care planning and medication systems.
- Strong communication, organisational, and conflict-resolution skills.
