Lavender Hills Care Home made the most of the recent heatwave by hosting a grand family BBQ at the home, and even a trip out to Fleetwood Beach on the West Coast, bagging themselves some beach-compatible wheelchairs!
On Sunday 17th July, Lavender Hills Care Home hosted a family BBQ for 150 people which raised £616 in total towards residents’ funds.
The event included live music, refreshments, face painters and a bouncy castle alongside a raffle.
The fun didn’t stop there. On Tuesday 19th of July, the team decided to take the residents to the sand at Fleetwood Beach on their specially designed wheelchairs, giving them access to enjoy the beach and shoreline.
This trip was funded by a generous donation from the East Lancashire Masonic Lodge Earl of Latham which the home is hugely grateful.
Setting off early in the morning to catch that sea breeze, the team went prepared with ice packs, sun cream, hats, and an abundance of cold water.
